RESUMTION OF ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES

The Bauchi State Commissioner, Ministry of Education, Hajiya Jamila Mohammed Dahiru wishes to remind parents and guardians that the resumption date for the second term of the 2022-2023 Academic Session is Sunday, January 8th, 2023, for boarding schools and Monday, January 9, 2023, for Day schools.

Therefore, all parents/guardians are advised to ensure that students and pupils resume back to school promptly to ensure a smooth academic session.
The commissioner wishes all students in the state a successful academic session.

CASHLESS PAYMENT OF EXAM FEES AND CHARGE

Given the perennial embarrassing practice of misappropriating SSCE and BECE examination fees of students by some head teachers and examination officers, which pitifully prevent innocent students from writing the final examinations, it has become necessary to extend the cashless policy that the Ministry introduced three years ago to now cover all payments related to examinations.

Starting from this (2022/23) academic year, parents are required to personally pay directly into the account of the Ministry all examination fees and charges.

This includes:
1. SSCE examination fees
2. BECE examination fees.
The following details are to be written at the back of the bank teller or transaction receipt of the POS/internet banking/mobile banking facility through which the payment is made.

1. Name of Examination (BECE, NECO or WAEC)
2. Full Name of candidate
3. Index number (if any)
4. Name of school
5. Date of payment.

Then a copy of the teller will be taken to the Principal or Exam Officer of the candidate’s school for compilation and onward transmission to the Exams Office of the Ministry.

Private Schools paying the Ministry for SSCE token stamp charges will also do so for the collective number of their candidates through the same Account of the Ministry.

The Exams Account Number is ZENITH BANK 1222282661.

By this notice, all principals or exams officers are prohibited from collecting any cash from or on behalf of parents. Any parent who pays cash to any official does so at his own risk.

APPOINTMENT OF PRINCIPAL OFFICERS

His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has approved the appointments of principal officers who will midwife the establishment of the new College of Education, Dass, for a period of a year. They are:
1. Dr. Mohammed Abdullahi Isiaku - Provost
2. Mal. Danjuma Shehu Usman - Registrar
3. Mal. Babayo Tata - Bursar
4. Mal. Lamido Mohammed Abdullahi - Librarian

Their appointment is with immediate effect.

MERIT (BOARDING) SCHOOLS ENTRANCE EXAM

Please find below details of the annual exam for admission into Bauchi State Merit (boarding) Schools for 2022/23 Session.

DATE: Saturday, 1 October, 2022.

TIME: The examination will start at 10am at each centre.

CLASSES: From JSS1 to SS2.

VENUES: Interested parents can send their wards to ANY of the following 20 centres:

2022 ADMISSION OF PRIVATE STUDENTS INTO GOVERNMENT DAY AND BOARDING SCHOOLS

As discussed with ES of various LEAs, any interested parent or school that wants to transfer a child or children to a boarding or day public school at SSS1 should apply to the Exams Director, Ministry of Education, Bauchi, attaching the list of children, their schools and their BECE index numbers by 20 August 2022. This announcement also covers all interested community junior secondary schools. Applications after the deadline will not be entertained.
